About me

My name is Birgit Koll and I was always attracted to horses as a child and began riding at the adge of 12 in Cologne, Germany. During school and further eduation, this hobby slumbered. In 2001, my husband, by coincidence, began riding and become captivated with the Arabian horse. In 2002, we visited the Kauber Platte Stud (near Frankfurt) where the manager showed us the mares and stallions the stud has bred out of old Straight Egyptian bloodlines. We were absolutely fascinated!

Within a short period of time, we decided to buy a filly, KP Fareeda (KP Mokeel x Fayza from Nizar) that grew up at Kauber Platte Stud. At the age oft two, a Western Trainer taught the filly. In 2007, we bred our mare with the Thee Desperado son Jahill. The result of this breeding was a beautyful colt named Farees. Both Fareeda and Farees were shown at serveral shows in Germany and France. During these shows, I saw many show halters I thought I could improve upon. Most were very simple with only a steel cable surrounded by leather. The halter were very stable; however, not as beautiful as I imagined.

Before long, I put in place my idea to produce show halters – thus the beginning of my company, Exklusive Showhalfter Birgit Koll. The first series of halters, shown in 2008 at a show at Kauber Platte Stud, was a great success. I was out of stock within one day after selling 30 halter.

Over the next two years, I experimented with new materials, evaluated new dealers and became more familiar with assimilating leather, pearls, Swarovski elements and all the beautiful materials one could imagine to build halters. Exklusive Showhalfter’s actual collection is made of leather or BioThane with a variety of Swarovski elements.

Exklusive Showhalfter Birgit Koll is promoted via Facebook where I received many requests for individual layouts from all over the world. I offer a wide range of designs that are suitable for all Arabian horses. I also manufacture custom show halters per client requests. All halters are handmade by me in Germany.

Mein Name ist Birgit Koll. Seit meiner Kindheit bin ich begeisterte Pferdeliebhaberin und Reiterin, übte dieses Hobby aber seit meiner Jugend nicht mehr aus.

Das Jahr 2001 sollte für uns Veränderung bringen. Eigentlich eher zufällig besuchten wir ein Springtunier bei dem neben grossrahmigen Warmblütern auch ein kleiner weißer Araber den 2ten Platz belegte. Was für eine Pferderasse ! Der Wunsch war geboren ein solches Pferd zu besitzen.

Im Jahr 2002 bekamen wir auf der Kauber Platte ein Stutfohlen angeboten, welches wir nach kurzer Überlegung kauften. Diese Stute ist heute unser (Familien)Reitpferd und hat uns vor 4 Jahren selber einen Nachkommen gebracht: ein Hengstfohlen.

Durch den Besuch auf vielen Shows begeisterte ich mich neben den Pferden auch für das besondere typische Zubehör: die Showhalfter, die den besonderen Typ der Rasse noch hervorheben.

Daraus entstand die Idee eigene Halfter herzustellen, was ich konsequenterweise direkt begann. Das Echo auf das erste Modell war so groß, dass ich beschloss weitere Halfter zu kreieren. Nach vielen Versuchen fand ich letztendlich auch die Materialien, die eine entsprechende Haltbarkeit und vor allen Dingen Belastbarkeit garantieren. Sie werden von mir weltweit eingekauft und in liebevoller Handarbeit gefertigt.
